The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) issued a final rule (the “Rule”) raising the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (“HMDA”) amending Regulation C and raising reporting thresholds for closed-end mortgages from 25 to 100 loans. This Rule becomes effective July 1, 2020.
The Rule also permanently raises the threshold for open-end lines of credit from 100 to 200 loans. This increase is currently in place upon a temporary order. This Rule will permanently increase the threshold effective January 1, 2022.
