The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) recently published its Semiannual Regulatory Agenda as part of the Fall 2022 Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions. The Regulatory Flexibility Act requires that agencies, including the CFPB, publish semiannual regulatory agendas in the Federal Register describing regulatory actions they are developing that may have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities. The CFPB agenda lists the regulatory matters that the CFPB reasonably anticipates having under consideration during the period from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023. Publication of this agenda is in accordance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act (5 U.S.C. 601 et seq.), and the agenda is divided into five sections: pre-rule stage; proposed rule stage; final rule stage; long-term actions, and completed actions.

  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau—Pre-rule Stage: Required Rulemaking on Personal Financial Data Rights
  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau—Proposed Rule Stage: Amendments to FIRREA Concerning Automated Valuation Models
  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau—Final Rule Stage: Small Business Lending Data Collection Under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act

The next agenda will be published in Spring 2023 and will update this agenda through Spring 2024. To view the CFPB’s Semiannual Regulatory Agenda as well as the complete Unified Agenda showing all agency regulatory agendas, please visit the links listed below.
